You bring the coffee, I’ll bring the 1,000 year old ancient religious text.

Letters to the Sky began, like many podcasts do, as a series of conversations between friends. As these conversations grew and became more dynamic, Adam and Stephan discovered that people wanted to eavesdrop on their discussions, and that they might as well make that option available to everyone.

From ancient religious texts to current events, from holy people to heretics, from historical documents and scientific studies to literature and poetry, Letters to the Sky covers a myriad of topics that you, too, may want to eavesdrop on.

Meet your hosts

Both are actively practicing their respective spiritual paths and so come with practical info and share from direct experience rather than just theory.

Adam

Adam is a physician, and a spiritual practitioner with a background in the Christian and Islamic traditions. He is kind and positive, and a true pluralist who loves exploring all sorts of traditions.

Stephan

Stephan is a rights manager at a publishing house and practicing Buddhist. He loves the profane as much as the sacred.

FAQs

(aka Questions you probably didn’t have but we wanted to answer them)

I’m an (insert religious affiliation or lack thereof here). Should I listen to your podcast?

We don’t use normatives here. Do what you want, you’re an adult.

That said, we can assure you will leave each episode having been exposed to new ideas and fresh new perspectives on life.

How much research goes into every episode?

Both of us come with decades of combined personal research and spiritual experience. For each episode we read the book in question, study the life of the author in depth if we don’t already know it and if it seems relevant to the material, and do a high level review of the various contexts and conversations surrounding the topics discussed, especially controversial ones. Then we pick out our favorite tibdits that seem ripe for exploration, and create an episode out of them, using the wider context of the entire book.

Be honest, how many of the texts you discuss have you actually read in entirety?

All of them. You wouldn’t expect anything less from non-experts hosting a podcast, would you?

Why do you guys like talking about this stuff so much?

We’re both fascinated with the spiritual path, and are each on our own. It’s natural for us to be interested in how others have walked the same path in their own ways. With each book we read we personally learn so much more about how to walk our own paths in our unique way.

Do you believe in the paranormal?

We don’t watch Ghost Hunters, but yogis are the real deal.

I’m a subject matter expert on something you’ve discussed or something that’s right up your alley. Can I be a guest on your show?
